I'm embarrassed that I keep posting, but as usual, when you go away over a weekend, I have way too much shit to tell you. And you won't be back 'til next week. I just can't wait that long. So I ate sushi tonight (with no soy sauce), but like a dumbass I ordered all of the "special" rolls that had shrimp tempura or some kind of deep fried-ness to it. In honor of our visit to the Thai place near my work, I also got a soft shell crab appetizer (deep, deep fried, of course). What's the point of avoiding soy sauce when I go and eat all kinds of other food that I'm allergic to, right? So it got me thinking. I'm sick again, of course. But I thought about the dried fruit you told me about the other day, and having all the time in the world, I searched for it online (search term: "crunchy dried fruit"). I wanted to make sure that I had the right one-- because the first link that came up was for this Sensible Foods Tropical Blends snack.

Is this it? I'll be so excited if it is because its gluten-free! I think I remember you telling me that it was labelled that way.
In any case, how funny is it that we both love dried fruit, but crunchy dried fruit? You know what's funny? I buy all kinds of normal dried fruit and wish that it was crunchy. We are definitely kindred spirits.
So that was it. I wanted to tell you that I got sick from dinner (and from the bagel chips I ate) and that I wish that my food allergies weren't so depressing. I hate that all of the alternatives to gluten are corn-based, and that I'm allergic to corn, too. And soy. And peanuts. If this dried fruit that I found was the one you were talking about, I'm going straight to the store on Monday and picking up a case. I am so tired of eating cookies and wishing I wasn't diagnosed with celiac.
